Thank you to everyone who has loaned the Heritage Project
their old photographs of
Long Preston,
and given us permission to use them on this site.
The images here are an initial sample of the photographs we have been loaned.
Many more are in the process of being scanned and prepared for publishing.
We have added as much information as we have collated at the moment to each image.

At the bottom of each picture in the main viewing window of the galleries you will see a Guestbook.
Please use this area to add any additional information, or corrections, that you know about the picture; people, places or dates.
Just click on the [Pencil icon] on the right hand side of the Guestbook area to add your comment.
Then on the [Tick] box to send your comment.
You should see your new message appear
at the top of the Guestbook list within a few seconds.

Navigation
Navigation through the galleries is very straightforward

When in the main viewing window there are several ways of moving through the images:

Screen Settings
For optimal viewing of the galleries your screen resolution should be set to at least
1024 x 768 pixels.
If set to a lower resolution, then the images will be resized to
fit your screen, but you will need to use the scroll bars to see the Guestbook etc.
The F11 key on your keyboard can be used to maximise the viewing area on your screen,
press
it again to return to a normal sized window.
Photographic Resolution
The photographs in these galleries have been scanned at a high resolution, but are presented here at a much lower resolution for displaying on The Web.
High resolution prints will shortly be available for purchase.
