Margaret Miller was born in Long Preston in 1930. The village has always been her home and she has been a shopkeeper in the village for most of her working life.
Part A: Memories of childhood, family life and schooldays then working at a bakers in Hellifield. Marriage and becoming a shopkeeper in the village.
Part B: About transport from the village and the village shops. Memories of Christmas,
and village events; Band and Hope, scouts from Leeds, Baptist Chapel, Drama Club
and picnics at the Beck.
Marriage traditions at the Church.
Part C: Visiting the Doctor, midwife and dentist.
Memories of Parents & Grandparents
Coping with cattle & sheep in heavy snow.
