Photographs from the unveiling of the new Stained Glass Window in the Village Hall on 28th April 2012.
The window was designed and made by Jackie Hunt, a professional stained glass designer who lives in Long Preston, with involvement of the community at several stages. Residents of the village and groups including the Women's Institute, the Over 70's, local Guides and Brownies and the Primary School, all contributed their thoughts as to the special features of Long Preston village, its immediate surroundings and the things that make it special, which Jackie incorporated into her design. The window was commissioned by the The Long Preston Heritage Group, who paid for the materials. The village would like to express their great appreciation to Jackie, who donated her extensive design and manufacturing time to the project, and to Alec Faraday for installing the window at no charge.
